COVID-19 is a first for Tanglin Dental. It hit hard and rocked our sensibilities in every aspect: It pushed us as Dentists and Nurses out of our comfort zone and provoked us to question ourselves emotionally and financially. To be candid, when revenue was down to almost zero, we were really worried about feeding our staff. As we slowly climb out of COVID-19, we continue to use this crisis to strengthen ourselves.
Our Education Team broke ground: In the midst of COVID-19, Dr Kenneth Lew, assisted by Dr Ng Choon Yau, conducted two Orthodontic Clear Aligner webinars with more than 150 dentists dialing in from Asia. Dr Ng Choon Yau challenged all of us to rise to the occasion, to suggest ways to improve our internal processes and our communication channels between ourselves, our patients, suppliers and stakeholders. This COVID-19 crisis will linger on. As we retooled processes in our two dental clinics, we also realised how difficult it must be to galvanise and encourage the people of Singapore during these trying times. Let’s all really hope this crisis will make us better, stronger, kinder.
