Dear Miss Rona,
There are always two sides to a story and I want to end this off on a good note, so I’ll start with the ugly side of you that I hate the most.
I run a company called Disrupt.Co with my team and we basically run shows in Singapore and book tours around Asia for your favourite artistes and bands. You must have no favourite since you’re busy infiltrating people’s lives. Anyways, we started in 2018 with a couple of shows and by the end of this year we would’ve raised our numbers to about 60 shows in total if it weren’t for your ill-mannered entry into our lives, shattering the entertainment industry as a whole. 2020 was supposed to be our biggest year yet, but you know, it’s fine because we’re all in this together, against you. You’ve literally disrupted everything. And we’re going to come back stronger than ever, just you wait.
Alright enough of the bad s**t! Being a naturally positive person does actually help put you in the right headspace during this time of uncertainty, and because I’m usually never at home, I started to learn how to appreciate being at home better. I’d help my parents out in the house by doing dishes and throwing out the trash. I often surprised my family, including my grandfather who’s now living with us, with McDonald’s breakfast meals, sometimes lunch and even dinner. I’d volunteer to go grocery shopping across the house if they needed so they don’t have to step out of the house and have an ill-fated encounter with you.
It’s been pretty fulfilling to say the least, and I’m proud of where I am right now even with you around. I’d like to give a huge shout-out to all the front-line workers (especially everyone over at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, if you know, you know) and essential workers working tirelessly throughout, just to make sure everyone staying at home is safe and in good health.
I’m not too sure when exactly you’ll be done touring the globe but I’m pretty sure there’s nothing we can’t overcome when we stand tall together.
Where there is no struggle, there is absolutely no progress.
Take care Miss Rona, I know you’re going down soon.
