I hate you.
That you caused destruction to the world and caused everything to change.
That you forced change out of everyone who have been trying to improve our lives and 2020 was supposed to be “THE YEAR” to make it work, to make it better, to make it.
That you rained chaos and fear into the lives of people across all walks of life.
That you pulled the plug on jobs and closure for businesses that were already struggling to survive.
But I am thankful, for this time I got to see moments I did not imagine I would see, that a whole industry of FnB operators rallying together to support one another, competitors across industries supporting one another, acts of humanity and humility where you'd least expect. Allowing me to appreciate the littlest thing in life.
Opening my eyes to a whole new world, a new appreciation, a new way to view life.
And that we can get through anything, so long as we are together, like little chopsticks.
We were due to expand in 2020. 2020 was supposed to be the year we would show the world who we are and push our limits and to grow the team into one big family. But like all businesses, we too suffered, we were lucky we were still able to barely survive and keep my family intact. Else, COVID-19, you will be one we would talk about and shame for the rest of our life, which we will improve with time and resilience.
Please go away and don't come back, ever. I am serious, go and don't look back.
Until then, we will fight you as a family until you are gone.
You may break our hearts but not our spirit.
