Dear Covid 19

Dear COVID-19,

I miss the feeling of missing sleep, dreading work and complaining about the little things and hiccups that happen during my so-called normal life. Ironic huh? Now, I don’t even have anything to complain about, except for you and you only. For now, my biggest worry is how long more before we can go back to “normal” or can we even go back to where we were before?

I'm self-employed, no jobs means zero income.

As time passed, I see the good in you, I mean you allow me to take this time to reflect and improve on myself. I can no longer use “I have no time” as an excuse because right now I have ALL the time in the world to catch up with my goals or to pick up new skills. You made me realise that there are still a lot of areas I can improve.

During my time at home, I've had big and small fights with my family, but this also allows me to know them better and understand what they are thinking. It’s a good time to bond and learn more about one another so that we can avoid and reduce unnecessary friction in the future.

Most importantly, you made me realise that life is fragile and full of surprises. We need to embrace the little things that happen in life because all these will add up to a meaningful lesson for us. Happiness can be achieved with a simple lifestyle – no gatherings, no parties, no entertainment; just having your loved ones with you is more than enough.

I don't hate you as much now and though I see the good in you, I still wish that you didn’t happen at all. It is true that you taught me a good life lesson and I feel that I have grown a lot since your appearance, but it’s about time you leave and don’t ever come back again. Thank you but you will NOT be missed.
